National Award to Teachers 2023: A total of 13 lecturers have decided to be given The National Award to Teachers on Thursday, Teachers Day. For the event, the recipients will be flown down to Delhi, where the event is going to be held. The air tickets for the recipient and their plus one will be sponsored by the Awardees, along with their stay, at the Ashok, in Chanakyapuri. All 13 professors have been given all the details and will be present from 3rd to 5th September. The main event will take place in Vigyan Bhawan, an Indian government conference centre, where multiple seminars and conferences have been held.
Recipients of National Award to Teachers 2023
The Ministry of Education announced the list of lecturers who will be awarded this honour this year. Four of them are from the Indian Institute of Technology. SR Mahadeva Prasanna, professor at IIT Dharwad; Suman Chakraborty, professor at IIT Kharagpur; Raghavan B Sunoj, professor at IIT Bombay and Indranath Sengupta, professor at IIT Gandhinagar along with Dinesh Babu J, Associate professor at IIIT Bangalore. The other recipients include; S Brinda, Head of Department at PSG Polytechnic College, Coimbatore; Mehta Zankhana Dilipbhai, Lecturer at Government Polytechnic, Ahmedabad; Keshav Kashinath Sangle, Professor at VJTI, Mumbai; Farheen Bano, Assistant professor at AKTU, UP; Sayam Sen Gupta, Professor at IISER Kolkata; Chandragouda Raosaheb Patil, Professor at RC Patel Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mumbai; Ashish Baldi, Professor at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University, Bhatinda; and Satya Ranjan Acharya, Professor at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Bhat.
Other honours
The professors will be awarded the prestigious National Award, along with a cash prize of Rs 50000, for their contribution to the field over the years. The categories also have been divided into two and have several sub-divisions. Moreover, a new category has been introduced, for teachers from Industrial Training Institutes and polytechnic institutes
