Delhi private schools: Fee will increase, Kejriwal government has sought proposals for fee hike from schools

Delhi private schools: Preparations are being made to increase fees in Delhi’s private schools soon. The Directorate of Education (DOE) has said that private schools running on government land in Delhi can submit proposals for fee hike for the academic year 2022-2023. However, the department has reiterated that schools cannot increase fees without its prior permission.

According to a circular issued by DoE, all pending fee hike proposals submitted by private unaided recognized schools running on land allotted by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) or other land-owning agencies … for the session 2020-2021 Such schools can submit their fee hike proposals, if any, for the session 2022 23.

Schools can send their fee hike proposals to the Directorate of Education for the current academic year between June 12 (Sunday) to June 27.

The Delhi government has sought proposals from private schools for fee hike after a gap of two years. After the lockdown in 2020, the DoE had directed schools not to charge any fee other than tuition fees and barred them from increasing the fees.

The circular states that the proposals submitted by the schools will be scrutinized and scrutinized through any officer or team authorized by the Director of Education. All such schools are strictly instructed not to increase any fees until their proposal is approved by the Director of Education. If no proposal is submitted by the school in response to this order, the school will not increase its fees for the academic session 2022-23.
