UGC Assistant Professor Eligibility: NET/SET/SLET mandatory for recruitment of Assistant Professor
According to the notification issued by the UGC on June 30 for the direct recruitment of Assistant Professor, the candidates for applying for the posts of Assistant Professor for various subjects have to pass the National Eligibility Test (NET) or in the case of recruitment in universities and degree colleges of various states. UGC Assistant Professor Eligibility: PhD became optional for the recruitment of Assistant Professor
UGC has changed the rules issued earlier regarding the recruitment of assistant professors in universities and degree colleges. According to the rules announced earlier by UGC, for the recruitment of Assistant Professor for subjects related to Arts, Commerce, Humanities, Law, Social Sciences, Sciences, Languages and Physical Education, candidates should have PG and UGC NET with minimum 55% marks in the concerned subject. Apart from this, as per the amended rules, candidates having PhD in the concerned subject could also apply.
