Shobhit University’s Center for Research on Rudraksha (CeRR) was established in 2018 with the objective of promoting the scientific basis of Rudraksha for building a healthy and sustainable society. Rudraksha, known as the “wonder bead,” possesses unique medicinal and holistic properties. As per ancient literature (Vedas and Puranas), Rudraksha is referred to as the tears of ‘Lord Shiva’ (‘Rudra’ means ‘Shiva’ and ‘Aksh’ means “tear”) and is botanically classified as a seed that belongs to the tree of Elaeocarpus spp.
