Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan unveiled the Vidyanjali Scholarship Program on February 7, marking a significant step towards supporting underprivileged students in their academic pursuits. The launch event took place at Rang Bhawan, All India Radio, Sansad Marg, New Delhi, and was streamed live on various social media platforms.
What Does the Scholarship Offer?
The Vidyanjali Scholarship Program aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students, particularly those hailing from disadvantaged backgrounds. A total of Rs 5 crore in scholarships will be disbursed to 70 students, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering inclusive education.
Promoting Inclusivity in Education
Minister Pradhan emphasized the importance of inclusive education for national development, stressing the need for all segments of society to participate actively. He acknowledged the crucial role played by businesses in supporting academically gifted yet underprivileged children, underscoring the significance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in bridging educational gaps.
Strengthening Schools Through Community Engagement
The Ministry of Education’s Vidyanjali initiative, launched earlier, aims to bolster schools’ infrastructure and educational quality through community and private sector engagement. This initiative facilitates partnerships with various stakeholders, including young professionals, retired educators, government officials, NGOs, and corporate entities, to enhance the learning environment and opportunities for students nationwide.
