The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council (UPBEC) has taken a significant step by announcing a winter vacation across all educational institutions in the state. This decision, extending until January 14, 2024, is not limited to council-run schools but encompasses aided and recognized schools as well. BSA Dinesh Kumar, acting upon government correspondence, has issued directives to ensure the strict enforcement of the winter break schedule.
Comprehensive Applicability
The winter break, applicable from pre-primary to class 8, aims to create a uniform break for students and educational institutions throughout Uttar Pradesh. This comprehensive approach underscores the commitment to adherence across the educational spectrum.
Government Correspondence and District Implementation
District Schools Inspector Chandra K Singh, aligning with government directives, has communicated the advisory to principals of secondary schools conducting classes up to the 8th grade. Students in these classes are granted a holiday until January 14, 2024. Principals are entrusted with the responsibility of implementing necessary measures in compliance with this decision.
Weather Conditions and IMD Alert
The decision to announce a winter break comes in the wake of an orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The alert predicts cold wave conditions in various areas of Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming days, prompting the proactive measure to temporarily close schools.
