According to the results released on Monday, only 67.26 percent (4,14,281) of the 6,15,908 students who took the Class 10 public examinations in Andhra Pradesh this year passed. This is the lowest pass rate in Class 10 exams since 2007, when 73 percent of students in the then-united Andhra Pradesh passed the exam.
“There were no irregularities in the exam administration” said a senior official from an Education Dept.
Meanwhile, official sources claim that a “realistic appraisal” led to a low pass rate. “We made certain that there were no irregularities in the administration of the exams, and that the evaluation was done in a realistic manner.” “This is obviously reflected in the overall findings,” said a senior official from the Department of Education.
