This partnership aims to revolutionize wireless standards, impacting a range of futuristic applications, including the metaverse, holographic communications, and digital twins.
Unlocking the Potential of 6G
As part of this collaboration, InterDigital will sponsor research and innovation at IIT-K to propel the development of Extreme MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output) systems. These cutting-edge technologies are poised to achieve remarkable spectrum efficiency and expand network coverage, essential for the successful deployment of 6G networks.
Prof. S Ganesh, Officiating Director at IIT Kanpur, emphasized the pivotal role of academia in shaping 6G technology.
