DSEJ counsels over 20,000 students, 500 schools through a ‘career conference’

Directorate of School Education, Jammu (DSEJ) organized a Career conference for 10th and 12th class pass outs through its counselling cell, to ensure that students take the right courses and prepare for future studies and career options to achieve success in a particular field.

More than 20000 students and 500 schools received virtual career advice counselling during the initiative, and many more benefited from the Directorate’s other social media platforms.

Director School Education Jammu, Dr Ravi Shankar Sharma emphasised on the recognition of capabilities, skills and interest of the students while deciding on taking up a field as a career option.

He also praised the Counseling Cell DSEJ’s initiative and stated that such conferences assist students in choosing the appropriate career that not only complements their skill sets but also enables them to be the best in their fields. The Counseling Cell DSEJ is working tirelessly to achieve this goal.

He highlighted various Government schemes and added that the students must be well acquainted with them so as to avail the opportunities being provided to them.

Dr. Ashutosh Srivastava, founder and CEO of Psyuni India, Dr. Ravinder Jangral, assistant coordinator of JK Samagra Shiksha, Ajay Thapa, senior lecturer in the department of mechanical engineering, and Dushyant Singh, district career counselling officer in Jammu were some of the experts on the expert panel who gave the students the right advice.

The students were also inspired by the Joint Director of DSEJ, Subah Mehta, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Ajay Thapa, Dr. Ravindra Jangral, and Dushyant Singh.
In order to achieve students’ dreams by putting up achievable goals, Dr. Romesh Kumar, Counseling Cell DSEJ, requested that all HOIs of HS/HSS construct counselling centres in collaboration with the districts.
