JNUTA had written to the VC last month asking it to “synchronise” the academic calendar as failing to do so has led to a gap between semesters and academic sessions in the university.
During a meeting with the JNUTA delegation last week, the VC admitted that the university is probably one of the few remaining institutions that have not yet synchronised their semesters.
“We were assured that starting from the normal winter vacation of December this year, we will gradually return to our normal academic calendar,” JNUTA said in a statement on Tuesday.
The JNUTA delegation took up “important” issues relating to the faculty of the university with the VC. In particular four issues – CAS (Career Advancement Scheme), promotion, JNU academic calendar, JNU crche and JNUTA membership – were discussed in some detail.
JNUTA had written to the VC asking him to “synchronise” the academic calendar which was “disrupted” by the COVID pandemic and prepared for delays in the admission process due to the National Testing Agency (NTA).
