NEW DELHI: On Tuesday, the Lok Sabha was informed that around 12,000 posts are vacant in Delhi Police. Nityanand Rai, Union Minister of state for home, replied to this in response to a BJP MP of Delhi Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma.
Rai said that Delhi Police reported, that on July 15, the total strength of posts was 94,255 posts of which 82,264 posts were filled. And now a total of 11, 991 posts are vacant in Delhi police. The minister said the Delhi Police has reported that a number of welfare measures are undertaken for its personnel and their family members.

The welfare measures include loans for marriages for self and daughter, education loans for higher studies financial assistance for the cremation of the deceased, and many others, he said while replying to a written qua=estion by BJP MP Pravesh Saheb Singh Verma.
