NEW DELHI: The chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath called for a quick NAAC grading for UP’s eligible higher education institutions after reviewing the performance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. After the implementation of this policy, the students will not be restrained to bookish knowledge, instead, their practical and technical knowledge will also be enhanced, Yogi said.

In the meeting, praising the private education institutions, the CM said that the motto of Indian culture ‘Aa no bhadraah kratavo yantu visvata’ should be embraced and their best practices should be implemented in government institutions.
“The National Education Policy has been made effective in all the universities of the state at the graduation level from the current session. Now it should be implemented at the post-graduate level from the next session,” Adityanath said.
77.7% of the population of Uttar Pradesh resides in rural areas. Therefore, under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan scheme, educational institutions should be connected with rural areas and special emphasis should be laid on courses related to rural development, Adityanath added.

Adityanath called for an experiment-based educational system in secondary classes. He asked to start smart classes in all government schools. The work of training basic and secondary teachers should be resumed in collaboration with reputed institutions, the CM said.
“In the secondary classes, we should include the current technical knowledge topics in the curriculum. Basic knowledge of topics like Disaster Management, Secure Digital Banking, Data Security, Traffic Management, Fire Safety should also be given,” Yogi Adityanath further stated.
Concerning School education
Uttar Pradesh government has invested a total of Rs 6,200 crore for the growth of the infrastructure and installations of the school. While talking about the school, the CM said that the inter-departmental convergence programs ‘Operation Kayakalp’ and ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’ have been successfully implemented in 1.33 lakh schools. “It should be ensured that along with the admission of children in the council school, their uniform and text material are available. Funds are being sent directly to the parent’s bank account for children’s uniforms, sweaters, and school bags,” Adityanath said.
About Aanganwadi workers
Talking about Anganwadi centres, the CM said that the development of Anganwadi centres as pre-primary is yielding good results. He asked to facilitate technology in schools. ‘Project Alankar’ should be successfully executed for the growth of infrastructure facilities in the schools of the Board of Secondary Education, he said. The CM asked to constitute the State School Standards Authority as soon as possible in these schools for “efficient resource and effective governance”.
