New Delhi: Munna Khalid, a PhD student in the Hindi Department of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has won two bronze medals in the 5th National Para Badminton Championship 2022-23. The championship was organized by Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University and Garv Foundation under the aegis of Paralympics Committee of India and Badminton Association of India from March 23 to 26, 2023 at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
Munna Khalid won a bronze medal in the singles event and another bronze medal in the doubles event with his partner Neeraj. On this occasion, Khalid said, “My dream is to win medal for India in Paralympics at international level.”
Recently on 15th March, 2023, Khalid won the gold medal in the Delhi State Championship 2023 and became the Delhi champion. Earlie, Khalid has won many gold, silver and bronze medals at national level and international level.
He is currently ranked 26th in the world, 14th in Asia and 3rd in India.
Prior to PhD, Khalid has also done BA (Hons) Hindi, Master of Social Work (MSW) and MA (Hindi) programs from JMI.
