The Indian Institute of Management in Kashipur for the G20 Summit 2023, hosted a lecture series under the ‘ G20 University Connect’ initiative. The theme of these lecture series is “Engaging Young Minds” where renowned professors from all over gather to talk about topics that engage the students, giving them a perspective. This thought-provoking lecture series, hosted by IIM Kashipur has many attendees. The universities principles align with the G20 and connect to the theme, Engaging Young Minds, as the University also takes up the responsibility of grooming future leaders.
G20 Summit 2023: L Savithri and other chief guests
The lecture was taken by various guests across various domains. Moreover, this included lecturers and professors from various universities and pioneers in their field. Along with this, the main attendee was Ambassador L Savithri, from the Ministry of External Affairs. As a veteran, she spoke about the significance of G20. In addition to that, she spoke about where the significance of India lies in G20 and how it has an impact on global affairs. She continued her remarkable speech by pointing out the significance of G20 “How crises in 1999 and 2000 prompted the formation of G20, a coalition of 20 countries responsible for a significant portion of the world’s population, GDP, and trade. The G20 summit and its rotating presidency provide a platform for nations to collaboratively address the pressing issues.” Moreover, she showered the institution with praise for its achievements and values. Furthermore, she added the school’s attempt to raise awareness of marginalized communities through “Voice of the Global South”, was lauded by her along with their work in energy transition. On top of that, she congratulated the university for securing 19th rank in the National Institutional Ranking Framework. Along with her, others also gave lectures such as Kunal Ganguly and Abhradeep Maiti. After the lecture, a question-answer round took place where the audience had their questions answered.

IIM has been making headlines with its digital empowerment initiative. Along with this, their interdisciplinary line is by the latest National Education Policy 2020. Its new PG session for MBA began in July 2023, with 321 MBA Students.
