Vacant posts of teachers in state engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes will be filled soon. The Science and Technology Department has accelerated the process regarding this.
The posts of 2,322 teachers are vacant in engineering colleges. These include 32 principals, 168 professors, 429 associate professors and 1,593 assistant professors.
Out of these, the department has received the recommendation for the appointment of 790 selected teacher candidates from the Bihar Public Service Commission. The appointment process of teachers on the remaining posts will be completed by June.
According to the information received from the Science and Technology Department, 100 percent availability of teachers is being ensured in 38 engineering colleges and 46 polytechnic institutes in all the districts of the state from the new academic session.
Apart from this, instructions have been given to complete the construction of buildings in engineering colleges and polytechnic institutes where work is being done on construction of educational infrastructure.
For this, Rs 72 crore 79 lakh has been made available to the concerned institutions in the current financial year 2022-23.
Rs 178 crore 80 lakh has been made available for class rooms, offices, workshops, laboratories, equipment, machines, equipment, books, journals and software in engineering colleges and polytechnic institutions.
