The Delhi government has mandated that recognized private schools, which have land allotted by government agencies, must seek prior approval from the Directorate of Education before increasing fees for the upcoming 2024-25 academic session. Here’s what you need to know:

Approval Required for Fee Increase

As per the official order issued by the Directorate of Education, recognized private schools in Delhi, particularly those with land allotted by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), cannot enhance fees without the prior sanction of the Director of Education.

Submission Deadline and Process

Schools are instructed to submit their proposals for fee increase online from April 1, 2024, through the Directorate’s website. The deadline for submitting proposals and relevant documents is April 15, 2024. It’s crucial for schools to adhere to this timeline to avoid rejection of their proposals.

Scrutiny and Consequences

The proposals submitted by schools will be thoroughly scrutinized by authorized officers or teams appointed by the Director. Schools failing to submit proposals within the stipulated timeframe are strictly prohibited from increasing any fees until approval is granted. Any unauthorized fee hike will be taken seriously, and schools may face legal consequences as per statutory provisions.

Online Module for Proposal Submission

A dedicated module for submitting proposals online and uploading necessary documents will soon be available on the Directorate’s website. Schools can access this module through their login credentials under the “school plant” section, specifically under “fee structure” and “proposal for fee hike 2024-25.”
