The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the provision of psychological counseling for students and parents starting from January 1, 2024. This initiative is aimed at supporting individuals during the exam season, with a focus on mental well-being.
24/7 IVRS Service
Parents and students can avail themselves of the free IVRS service by calling the Board’s toll-free number, 1800-11-8004. This service will be accessible round the clock, offering immediate support and guidance.
Bilingual Podcasts for Accessibility
To enhance accessibility, CBSE will host bilingual podcasts on its official website, www.cbse.gov.in. These podcasts will cover various subjects, providing an additional resource for those seeking psychological support.
Tele-Counseling Services
CBSE will extend its Tele-counseling voluntary and free-of-cost service, available from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Saturday. This service will be staffed by a team of 65 professionals, including principals, trained counselors, special educators, and psychologists.
Global Outreach
In a global outreach effort, CBSE’s counseling services will not be limited to India alone. A total of 65 professionals, including 52 from India and 13 from countries such as Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah), will contribute to this endeavor.
