IIT Roorkee: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT) Roorkee singed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation in research and training with Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO). The aim of the MoU is to develop the relationship between the two institutions.
MoU Signed
The Institute claimed, “The MoU is proposed to jointly present research and development projects under the proposal of various government and non-government funding organizations to enhance rural infrastructure and livelihoods of rural communities, training and workshops on Himalayan Sustainable Development.” outlines to do.” in his press release.
Joint Training Programs
Both the institutes agreed to conduct joint training programs on various natural issues, such as recently developed techniques in water resource management and agricultural development, food security, agricultural security, livelihood security, drinking water security, energy security, natural hazards, climate, etc. The agreement also facilitates exchange of staff and students for joint research.

Socio-economic independence
Dr. Anil Joshi, Founder, HESCO said, “The knowledge generated by IIT Roorkee will be communicated by HESCO to empower community organization for socio-economic independence. Association which will help develop participatory research on various community, Himalayan rural communities need technology such as agriculture, water and sanitation, and energy.
