G20 Summit 2023: Delhi Schools To Remain Closed From September 8th to 10th

The G20 summit 2023, to be held in Delhi, will have schools closed from 8th to 10th September 2023. Along with this, the government may restrict movement altogether in certain areas due to the summit. G20 is organized to discuss the major economic issues faced by the world in terms of climate change, sustainability, and finance. Therefore, over 10 countries are going to participate along with the European Union. The countries are going to discuss various economic reforms. For this, many G20 Participants are going to arrive on 8th September, for the event that is to be held on 9th and 10th September. The participants will also be given a tour of certain landmarks and places in the city.

G20 Summit 2023: restrictions

The New Delhi Municipal Council has declared leave for all students teachers and other staff members leave from September 8th to 10th, to avoid any form of traffic or movement in certain areas of the city. The G20 summit is going to take place in Pragati Maidan. Therefore, the areas nearing, that is, Connaught Place, Chandni Chowk, and Khan Market, will have very high security for the same reasons. Although uncertain, many participants will be arriving before the event and some on the day of the event, therefore, the state government wants to ensure smooth passage for the delegates through the busy roads by keeping certain restrictions and amping up the security towards the central Delhi region.

G20 Summit 2023: leave



Department of Education announced that all schools and colleges will have leave on the days, of 8th September to 10th September for both students and the staff. Along with this, the state government is in the process of declaring 8th September 2023 as a public holiday. This is to ensure that the delegates have an obstacle-free passage throughout.
