CAT 2023 Exam Details: What to Expect

More than 3 lakh candidates are anticipated to appear for CAT 2023, with no expected changes in the question paper format. The paper is likely to consist of 66 questions covering Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The duration of the exam is 2 hours, with candidates allocated 40 minutes for each section.

Key Points and Guidelines for CAT 2023

  • The exam awards 3 marks for each correct answer, with a deduction of 1 mark for incorrect responses. Non-MCQ questions do not have negative marking.
  • PwD candidates have a specific time allocation of 53 minutes 20 seconds for each section.
  • The total marks for CAT 2023 are 198.
  • Adhering to the dress code is crucial; caps, jackets, or closed-toed shoes are prohibited, but candidates can wear pullovers, sweaters, and no-pocket cardigans.
  • The record-breaking 30% increase in registrations highlights the popularity of CAT 2023, attracting around 3.3 lakh aspirants compared to 2.55 lakh in the previous year. This entrance test paves the way for MBA admissions at prestigious institutions like the IIMs, IITs, and other leading B-Schools in the country.
