Agneepath Scheme

The Government of India has implemented an attractive recruitment scheme for the youth to serve in the Armed Forces. This scheme is called Agnipath scheme and the youth selected under this scheme will be called Agniveer. The Agneepath scheme allows patriotism-motivated youth to serve in the armed forces for a period of four years.

Cabinet Meeting

This decision for recruitment was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. However, the government did not specify the positions where the young ex-servicemen would be accommodated.

Free and Fair conduct

When asked, Thakur’s press secretary Rajesh said, “The outline will be finalized soon.” Meanwhile, to ensure free and fair conduct of recruitments in government jobs, the cabinet decided to bring the examinations conducted by Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission under the Preview of Prevention of University, Board or Other Specified Examinations Act, 1984 in Himachal Pradesh.
