Ever since the Agneepath scheme has been implemented, many people are also appreciating it. However, there are many people who have raised many important questions regarding this scheme. There is also a question in the same questions that if the candidates join the army at such a young age, then what will happen to their further education like graduation and post graduation? How will he complete his graduation by staying in the army? Also, when they return after 4 years of service, will they have the required degree to work in any further field?
Keeping in mind many such questions and future prospects of Agniveers, a skill-based three-year bachelor’s degree program will be started by the Ministry of Education.
According to media reports, skill training to be received by Agniveers in defense establishments will also be recognized. This information was given by the officials on Wednesday. Officials say that they will tie up with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) for further education of Agniveers like graduation. The degree programs offered by IGNOU will be recognized for employment and education both in India and abroad. India’s Army, Air Force and Navy will sign an MoU with IGNOU for this.
This program will be compulsorily implemented as per the norms of UGC, National Credit Framework and National Skill Qualification Framework under the new National Education Policy (NEP).
Also, the framework of this program will be recognized by the relevant regulatory bodies such as All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and UGC. The soldier who leaves any course after successful in the first year, will be given an ‘undergraduate certificate’ from the university.
