The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) has postponed the class 10 matriculation examination. This exam was to be held on 18 March. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said on Friday that the entire examination system will be analyzed and reformed. Admitting that there are “loopholes in the system”, he said the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has to find out where the problems lie and take corrective measures.
SEBA has rescheduled the exam
SEBA has rescheduled the exam for all MIL/English (IL) subjects on April 1, 2023. It was earlier scheduled to be held on March 18, 2023. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, we have to improve it together. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had on Thursday evening said that a few days after the General Science question paper of the Class 10 state board exam was leaked, the Assamese paper was also leaked.
According to the notification of SEBA, now the examination of this subject will be held on 30 March. The CID is probing the matter and among those arrested are several students. A school headmaster has also been arrested, who is suspected to be the mastermind.
Meanwhile, reacting to the latest paper leak reports, the opposition Congress said the episode has put the entire matriculation examination process in question. “Not only Assamese, every paper of HSLC exam is under scanner. CM @himantabiswa, Education Minister @ranojpeguassam should be ashamed of themselves, take responsibility for this fiasco & resign.”
