CAT 2023: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has introduced significant revisions to its admission policy for the 2024-26 session, emphasizing a more holistic approach to candidate selection.
Revamped Admission Criteria
In a departure from the previous year, IIM Kozhikode has revamped its admission criteria. While the Common Admission Test (CAT) scores still hold the majority weight at 45 per cent, gender diversity and academic achievements now carry a substantial 10 per cent and five per cent, respectively, a notable increase from the previous 10 per cent collectively.
Three-Stage Selection Process
IIM Kozhikode adopts a three-stage selection process. In the initial stage, candidates must meet specific requirements, including a minimum CAT score percentile of 85 and a mandatory 60 per cent in Class 10 and Class 12 for general category candidates.
Second Stage Criteria and AIS Calculation
Eligibility for the second stage, involving the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), is determined by an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The CAT index score, Class 10 and Class 12 percentage scores, gender and academic diversity, and work experience contribute to the AIS calculation.
Diversity Scores and Final Merit List
Diversity scores are assigned to female/transgender candidates and those pursuing non-engineering disciplines for gender and academic diversity, respectively. After WAT and PI, candidates are shortlisted based on their performances in CAT 2023, with a 35 per cent weightage, and additional considerations for PI, WAT, and resume scores with respective weightages of 35, 20, and 10 per cent.
