Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has rescheduled the date for the Entrance Test of the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) for all the aspirants of the Civil Services Coaching Program. Now, the exam will be held on 18th June 2023 (Sunday). The last date for submission of the Application Form is 05th June 2023.

“In continuation of the official notification dated 18.04.2023, all the aspirants of the Civil Services Coaching program 2023 are hereby informed that the Entrance Test of Residential Coaching Academy(RCA) has been rescheduled. The dates of the entrance test, the last date to fill the form, and other details are given below in the modified schedule,” the official notice stated.
Guidelines to be followed
- The Entrance test will be held at ten Centres: The Centres are Delhi, Srinagar, Jammu,
Hyderabad, Guwahati, Mumbai, Patna, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Malappuram (Kerala) - The Written test would comprise of General Studies (objective type only) on UPSC’s model {only in English/Hindi/Urdu) and Essay writing in English/Hindi/Urdu to test the candidate’s knowledge of general awareness, critical thinking, logical thinking, reasoning and
comprehension and written communication. The total duration of the examination would be
three hours comprising two hours for General Studies and One hour for Essay writing. - There would be negative markings for objective-type questions in the test. One-third of the marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
- The entrance test paper would be divided into two papers-Paper-01 and Paper-02. Paper-01 would consist OMR based objective type questions. There would be 100 questions, and the total
marks for this section would be 100(100 x 1 =100). The students may take the question paper with them. There will be negative markings as per the UPSC pattern. Paper ~ 02 would consist of Essay writing, for which the total allotted marks would be 60. The Candidate would be required to write one essay (60 x 1 = 60). The total time allotted for both papers would be three (03)hours. However, the OMR sheet would be collected after two hours.
The time allotted for writing the essay will be one (01) hour. - The essay of only the top 800 students will be evaluated based on the MCQ test mark {Paper-01).
- The total marks of the Interview /personality test would be 40 (Forty).
- In case of a tie, the higher marks in the interview would be taken as the basis of selection. The younger candidate (age-wise) will get the seat if there is still a tie.
- Reservations for the Physically Handicapped are as per the rule of reservation of the University.
- Only those candidates who have already completed their Graduation and are eligible to apply for. Civil Services Examination 2024 need to apply for the RCA-JMI Entrance test.
- Coaching will include (a) classes on General Studies, CSAT and selected optional papers, (b) Test series, answer evaluation, and Essay writing practice shall form part of the curriculum.
- The Academy will also conduct Mock Interviews for those who qualify the mainexaminationsof UPSC Civil Services.
- Test Series (Prelims.) will be held during January 2024 to April 2024.
- Test Series (Main) will be held during June 2024 to September 2024.
- An air-conditioned Library facility is provided (24×7).
- The Jamia Millia Islamia sports complex will be available to the enrolled students of RCA as per
University rules for its students. - The available seats are 100. Hostel accommodation is compulsory and will be provided to all the admitted students. In case of shortage, hostel seats may be piloted strictly based on merit determined by the entrance test. RCA reserves the right to reduce the intake if sufficient deserving candidates are unavailable.
- Students shall have to pay for a monthly Hostel Maintenance Charge of 1000/-, the first time, which must be paid (06) six months in advance, i.e. ¥ 6000/-. After that, they must deposit the maintenance charge (02) two months in advance. For girls students, their charges would be deposited in Girl Hostel Office.
- Students must adhere to the Hostel guidelines, and the same will be issued separately at the time of admission.
- Application forms are to be filled online on JMI examination website www.jmicoe.in
- Application has to be submitted online only with a fee of £950/-or + applicable basic charges.
