Manipur Schools Reopen after two months of Violence, attendance very low, Details

Manipur Schools Reopen: In Manipur, schools for grades 1 through 8 began operations on July 5. The Education Department had ordered on Monday that the state’s schools that had been closed due to caste conflict since May 3rd would reopen on July 5th. On Monday, nevertheless, the state experienced an outbreak of violence once more. According to the officer, there is no information regarding any casualties.

Normal lessons from classes 1 through 8 will resume for all schools in the state starting on July 5, 2023, according to Director of School Education L Nandkumar Singh’s order, which trumps all previous orders issued in this regard. The Education-School Department of Manipur has asked all regional education officers to inform all parties involved and take appropriate measures.

Manipur Conflict

Let us inform you that there has been a long history of violence in the state. Since May 3, ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki groups has resulted in at least 120 fatalities, over 300 injuries, and close to 40,000 displaced persons.
