NEET UG 2022: The protesting students have outlined their grievances and the challenges they currently face in a 19-page statement to the ministry of education.
The latest effort to postpone NEET UG 2022 has been made by the medical aspirants, who have sent a memo to the Education Ministry with only five days to the exam. The students continued to call for the medical exam to be delayed even after the NTA released the NEET UG Admit Card 2022 earlier in the day.
The agitated students have outlined their grievances and the challenges they currently face in a 19-page statement to the Ministry of Education. According to the memo, the preparation period has lasted fewer than 100 days since the official NEET UG 2022 notification was released on April 6, 2022. Additionally, they said that the communication went against the custom of notifying applicants at least five months before the exam date. The agitated students claimed that a lack of preparation time had left them stressed and anxious.
For the past many months now, the students are demanding for a postponement of the medical entrance by around 40 to 60 days.
The change occurred shortly after the National Testing Agency (NTA) distributed the admission card for the NEET (UG) 2022 examination. On the official website neet.nta.nic.in, applicants for the medical test can download their hall tickets.
According to a previous NTA announcement, the NEET UG 2022 would be held on July 17 from 2:00 PM to 5:20 PM for a total of 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Notably, almost 18 lakh students have registered for the NEET UG exam this year in order to be considered for admission to UG medical programmes including BDS, BSMS, MBBS, BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, and others.
Some students have taken to Twitter to air their frustrations, claiming that because the CBSE 12th board exams ended in the middle of June, they were unable to adequately study for the NEET exam. In the memorandum, some additional students stated that because the NEET 2021 counselling process went late, those who did not pass had little time to get ready for the subsequent exam.
The students had earlier requested that the exam be postponed, arguing that they needed more time for preparation. More students have expressed concern that the NEET 2022 date will conflict with other admission tests, such as the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which will be administered from July 15 to August 10.
Students have used the hashtags “PMO Help NEET UG Aspirants” to draw attention to their complaints even though the NTA has not yet amended the entrance exam dates. After the students started the online campaign, other hashtags like JUSTICE for NEET UG began to trend on Twitter.
