Central University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 will be conducted in two phases between July 15 & August 4, 2022. For candidates who will write exams in phase one, admit cards have been issued today. For phase two of the exams, admit card will be issued on July 31.
According to UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, at least 98% of applicants who are taking the CUET would be assigned exam sites in the cities of their choosing.
The head of the University Grants Commission made his remarks in response to complaints from candidates who felt their exam admit cards were provided too late.
“Due to security concerns and to prevent any exam fraud, the admit cards were made available four days before the exam. Nobody should worry about the students, Kumar told PTI.
“At least 98% of candidates will acquire the centre in their preferred city. Those who do not think the designated centre is practical can contact NTA, which will take their requests “added he.
The Common University Entrance Test, or CUET-UG, will be conducted from July 15 to August 10, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced last week.
For the first round of CUET, more than 11 lakh candidates have enrolled. On Monday, the NTA made the CUET UG admission cards available.
“The exam, which will be administered across 500 cities, has attracted over 14 lakh applicants. The NTA is an organisation that conducts exams professionally, thus it is a huge effort. Students shouldn’t be concerned, “added Kumar.
Kumar had stated in March that the 45 central institutions will be able to set their own minimum eligibility requirements and that CUET scores, not Class 12 marks, would be required for admission.
He further stated that neither the exam nor the coaching culture will be encouraged by the new approach, which will not prejudice students from state boards.
For the inaugural iteration of CUET for UG admissions in the academic year 2022–2023, a total of 44 central institutions, 12 state universities, 11 deemed universities, and 19 private universities submitted applications.
