Hyderabad: In addition to opening cutting-edge facilities and laying the cornerstone for BVRSCIENT on Saturday, Union Minister for Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan witnessed a historic MoU for the first-ever Greenko School of Sustainable Science & Technology at IIT Hyderabad. The Saturday infrastructure dedication is a component of the campus development project within the JICA’s larger India-Japan partnership.
In conjunction with this, IITH also exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) to receive assistance in assisting meandering students in becoming accustomed to the foreign languages in order to be prepared for upcoming global opportunities via various UG & PG programmes at IITH with renowned international academic & industrial partners.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan said that India is going to play a lead role in the fourth industrial revolution and IIT Hyderabad will play a major role in building the brand of India globally and in carving out a better and prosperous future, especially during the Amrit Kaal. We must fulfill the Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, he added. The Minister further said that India cannot be just a consuming nation. “We must innovate and establish our own models for achieving self-sufficiency as well as for furthering global welfare,” he added. He asked IIT Hyderabad to redefine its role to fulfil societal needs and provide affordable global solutions.

According to the Minister, NEP 2020 is a strategy for positioning India as a leader in the newly developing global order. He recommended that IIT Hyderabad work to educate and train people in frontier fields, promote risk-taking, turn job searchers into employment creators, and set new standards of excellence. According to him, developing one’s skills is a lifetime process, and NEP 2020 places a strong focus on incorporating skill development within the educational system.
In order to capitalise on IR 4.0 and the job markets of the twenty-first century, he recommended that IITH and industry specialists create a world-class skill development centre there. With its focus on research and innovation, he voiced his optimism that IITH would serve as a model for developing and international economies. The Minister expressed his gratitude to BVR Mohan Reddy from Cyient and Anil Chalamasetty from Greenko for accepting responsibility and making significant donations to support IITH’s research efforts as well as to position the organisation at the forefront of innovation and entrepreneurship.
