Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) world universities ranking has again released the ranking of ‘Best student-friendly cities 2023’ around the globe. In the top 10 world’s best student-friendly cities ranking, ‘London’ has topped the list among other cities. Since 2018 the UK’s capital has held the first spot in the ‘world’s best student-friendly cities.
Whereas Munich and Seoul grabbed the second position in the list this year, Zurich came in the fourth spot and Melbourne in the fifth spot of the list among 140 cities.

The cities were given scores as per the guidelines wherein London scored around 94.8 in Ranking, 94.9 in Desirability, 19.4 in Affordability, 92.7 in Employer Activity, 94.9 in Student Mix, and 98.5 in Student View.
The rankings are based on six key categories: University Rankings, Student Mix, Desirability, Employer Activity, Affordability, and Student Voice. All the indicators are given equal weightage when calculating the overall scores.
Surprisingly, a total of 4 universities from London have been ranked in the top 100 in QS World University Rankings 2023.
Moreover, Indian cities have also been ranked in the world’s ‘best student-friendly cities 2023’. Mumbai topped the list in India and was ranked at103rd position. The other Indian cities on the list include Bangalore at 114th, Chennai at 125rd, and Delhi at 129th position respectively.
