Bihar STET 2022 Exam Canceled with Immediate Effect: The Bihar government has announced cancellation the Bihar STET 2022 exam with immediate effect. The Bihar government decided not to conduct the state level teacher eligibility test as the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) which is conducted twice a year.

This decision was taken in a high-level review meeting held under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Education) Deepak Kumar Singh in light of the recent order of the Patna High Court, in which the state government was directed to consider Teachers Eligibility Test (TET).

Bihar Director of Primary Education, in a letter to the Bihar School Examination Committee, said that the center is regularly conducting the CTET exam, so the department has decided not to conduct the STET exam 2022.

“Bihar Primary School Services (Appointment, Promotion, Transfer, Disciplinary Proceedings and Condition of Service) Rules 2020, qualifying TET conducted by Central or State is essential for recruitment of teachers. The center holds it twice a year. in July and December. In such a situation, the need for another similar test at the state level is not being felt. If such need arises in future, the department will take a decision,” said a letter issued by Director (Elementary Education) Ravi Prakash to the secretary of the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB).

If we look at the previous figures, Bihar STET was to be conducted once in a year. However, the Bihar teacher recruitment exam could be conducted only twice since the first Bihar STET exam was conducted in 2011. The last time it was conducted in the state was in 2017. Bihar STET qualified candidates are still waiting for their appointment.

As a result, the students approached the Patna High Court demanding regular conduct of BTET. The High Court directed the state government to look into their demand.
