Engineers are essentially problem solvers who apply their technological expertise to enhance people’s lives and create a better future. Active learning in engineering education entails putting students in hypothetical and real-world scenarios to promote higher-order thinking skills like analysis, synthesis, and assessment. This method promotes proactive skill development rather than passive knowledge absorption. Students gain knowledge through active participation in activities, which is more efficient than passively absorbing information.

The emphasis is placed on the engineering student as the active participant in the learning process, rather than on the instructor as the main source of information. Students are motivated to take initiative in their education, cultivating and refining their skills. Their comprehension is constructed through engaging activities and relevant knowledge.
