The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras), is currently accepting applications for the IIT Madras Data Science Admission 2024. Interested candidates can apply for the IITM BS degree in Data Science and Applications until September 15, 2024. Applications can be submitted through the official IIT Madras website at iitm.ac.in.
Qualifier Exam and Results
The qualifier examination for the IIT Madras Data Science program is scheduled for October 27, 2024. Following the exam, the results will be announced on November 1, 2024. Candidates who successfully pass the qualifier exam can immediately join the program.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
Candidates who have completed their Class 12 or an equivalent examination are eligible to apply for the program, regardless of their age or academic background. Additionally, students who have just completed their Class 11 final exams are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their group, stream, or board. Upon passing the qualifier exam, these students can join the program after completing Class 12.
Steps to Apply for IITM BS Degree in Data Science
To apply for the Data Science course at IIT Madras, candidates should follow these steps:
- Visit the official IIT Madras website at iitm.ac.in.
- Click on the “Study at IITM” link on the home page ticker.
- From the drop-down box, select “Non-Campus BS Degree.”
- Choose the “Data Science” course, and a new page will appear.
- Click on the registration link and fill in the required details.
- Log in to your account and complete the application form.
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
- Download and print a copy of the submitted application for future reference.
Application Fee Details
The application fee for the IIT Madras Data Science Admission 2024 is ₹3000/- for General and OBC candidates, ₹1500/- for SC, ST, and PwD (with >= 40% disability) candidates, and ₹750/- for SC/ST candidates who are also PwD (with >= 40% disability). An additional exam facilitation fee is required for candidates opting to take the Qualifier Exam at a center outside India. Payments should be made online.
