Atal Residential Schools in Uttar Pradesh go beyond academics, instilling Indian values and Gurukul traditions in underprivileged students. Our mission is to nurture self-sufficiency and self-reliance in these children, empowering them for a brighter future.
Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, recently announced the commitment of Atal Residential Schools, named in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to provide more than just education. These schools aim to instill Indian values and gurukul traditions in underprivileged children.
Education Aligned with Indian Values and Gurukul Traditions
Speaking at the ‘Atal Residential School Guruvarta Sangam’ program, Adityanath highlighted that these schools, spanning 12 to 15 acres and following the CBSE pattern, are already operational in 18 divisions across the state. Besides academic excellence, these institutions focus on skill development and the holistic growth of children from marginalized backgrounds.
Expanding the Atal Residential Schools Initiative
Adityanath revealed plans to establish such schools in 57 districts within Uttar Pradesh, all aimed at fostering self-sufficiency and self-reliance in students. He emphasized the pivotal role of teachers in achieving this objective and attributed the schools’ existence to Vajpayee’s vision of providing world-class facilities to economically disadvantaged sections.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay
These schools also reflect Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, inspired by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s ideology. Adityanath inaugurated an official website for the schools during the event and introduced the Bal Seva Yojana, offering admission benefits to children who lost parents during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Empowering Underprivileged Students for a Brighter Future
In an effort to create a brighter future for underprivileged students, Adityanath distributed school kits to selected Atal residential school students, expressing his best wishes for their future success. These schools are not just institutions of education; they are a testament to the commitment to Indian values and quality education for all.
