Assam Government prepones summer vacations; Schools to remain close from today

The Assam government has moved up the start of summer break for students. Starting today, June 25, all schools in Assam will be closed. Government schools in Assam will be closed from June 25 to July 25, according to Minister of Education Ranoj Pegu.

The Assam floods have devastated the state severely. The state administration has postponed the start of the school year’s summer break in light of the circumstances. Starting today, June 25, all schools in Assam will be closed. Government schools in Assam will be closed from June 25 to July 25, according to Minister of Education Ranoj Pegu. The government has moved up the summer break for Assam schools, which were scheduled to be closed from July 1 to July 31 due to flood damage. For one month, or until July 25, all schools in Assam will be closed.

The administration instructed the school authorities to sum up the examinations by June 25 and close the schools for the safety of students and teachers. Usually, Assam school summer vacations start during first week of July but this time considering the adverse situation, the government has ordered to shut schools from today.

The summer break has since started in all elementary, secondary, senior secondary, and upper secondary institutions, according to the Government of Assam’s Secondary Education Department. All private educational institutions have likewise been instructed to abide by the directives by the state minister of education.

Around 50 lakh people have been affected by the Assam floods, which have become terrible for the populace. So far, more than 100 individuals have perished. People are being rescued by the state and district governments. The district administrations in the affected districts have established a total of 845 relief camps and 1025 relief distribution sites. These relief shelters are providing refuge to more than 2.71 lakh individuals.
