AIIMS-Manglagiri: Union Minister of State for Health visits AIIMS-Manglagiri
AIIMS-Manglagiri: Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Bharti Praveen Pawar on Saturday visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)-Manglagiri campus and said that post-graduate classes would be started here soon. The Union Minister of State told reporters on the occasion, “The construction of the patient recruitment ward will be completed soon and after that we will start the postgraduate course. At present, undergraduate courses are being conducted here.
He said that AIIMS-Mangalagiri is the first AIIMS institute in South India and it is working well. Pawar said, “The outpatient unit is doing a great job here. The services here are satisfactory. We will soon have trauma care facilities as well. The institute will be further developed in a phased manner. However, during his interaction with the AIIMS officials, the Union Minister expressed concern over some issues, especially the lack of water supply for the institute.
He asked why the officials here did not talk to the state government or bring the Centre’s attention to it. Pawar also referred to complaints of poor services in the outpatient unit and directed the officials to intensify efforts. The minister also informed the Union minister Pawar about the overall village health clinics being built across AP. Through such a concept, doctors will visit every family at frequent intervals.
